Meet Eunice, A Story of Peace.

Eunice is a mother of seven children — three in junior high, three in primary, and her youngest is only a few months old. Before water was installed, Eunice walked over a mile every day to fetch water, a heavy burden that caused chest pains and left her exhausted. Today, that struggle is gone, and she can use her energy to care for her children.

Water has transformed her home. Her younger kids used to struggle with jiggers, a parasite that causes pain, itching and infection. For children this means they cannot play, attend school or sleep without pain. For adults it often means they can no longer walk or work. With the installation of water at the home, Eunice can wash their bedding often and keep the home clean; they are now free from jiggers! She has even started a small kitchen garden where she has planted arrowroots.

Life at home is more peaceful— they are free from jiggers and she no longer has to rely on her children to fetch water while she is away working.
